Green Tea for Weight Loss

Green tea is a natural substance derived from the dried leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Unlike other teas produced from this plant, ie, black and oolong tea, green leaves are allowed to ferment. Keep the blades in their natural state minimizes the oxidation that occurs during processing and allows the tea to retain its unique polyphenols or natural chemicals that are known as catechins. Among the many available, the most powerful and abundant catechin in tea is known as epigallocatechin-3-gallate or EGCG name.

While catechins offer a wide range of health benefits, the most important advantage is its ability to stimulate weight loss. Recently, researchers at the China Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety at the University of Beijing and Kao Corporation have teamed up to determine the effects of regular consumption of catechins in adults with moderate to large amounts of abdominal fat. During the 12-week study, 118 Chinese adults were divided into two groups, one receiving fortified beverage and other daily catechin intake control drink. After 12 weeks, adults who consumed the catechin enriched beverage have lost a significant amount of abdominal fat and overall body fat compared to the control group. In this case, neither group was asked to exercise or change your diet. However, this may increase the effects of catechin-rich tea.

The efficacy of the use of the rich or extract of tea catechin is believed to be due to the ability of a chemical to improve metabolic function. EGCG and other catechins increase in visceral fat thermogenesis and increase fat oxidation. These features allow users existing burn body fat, particularly in the abdominal area, while preventing more fat storage.

Besides helping dieters to achieve the slim body you've always wanted, it offers many other benefits that promote optimal health. Catechins are not only effective fat burners also work as anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory agents powerful. These natural chemicals and enzymes and other antioxidants in tea are known to reduce blood cholesterol, heart health, prevent diabetes and promote brain function. These benefits make green tea effectively to strengthen efforts to lose weight, get rid of unwanted body fat and improve overall health.
